Raúl López, son of Cádiz's midfielder, to sign two-year deal with Xerez CD

The 20-year-old midfielder, from Cádiz Mirandilla, will sign for the next two seasons to strengthen the blue-and-white midfield.

Xerez CD continue completing their squad for the 2026/2027 season, in which the club face the challenge of fighting for promotion to Primera Federación. The Jerez sporting department has closed the agreement with Raúl López, a 20-year-old midfielder and son of the former Cádiz player of the same name, who will sign for the next two seasons.

Formed in the yellow academy

Raúl López has been linked to Cádiz CF since he was 12, coming through all of the club's youth categories up to the reserve side, Cádiz Mirandilla. In the 2024/2025 season he was a regular in Segunda Federación, making 28 appearances and nearly 1,700 minutes on the pitch.

This past season he played 15 matches in Tercera RFEF with Mirandilla before going out on loan to Atlético Sanluqueño, already in Primera Federación, where his involvement was more limited, with five appearances at El Palmar. Now, joining from Cádiz's reserve side, he faces a new stage at Xerez CD.

A profile that fits the project

In that same line of work, the name of Pablo Arana has also emerged — a 20-year-old winger from Jerez who this season played 21 matches with Mirandilla in Tercera RFEF Group X.

With this addition, Raúl López joins the list of Xerez CD signings for next season, which also includes Carlos Pantoja, Manu Galán, Rubén Mesa, Fali, Jaime Fernández, Víctor López, José David Salas and Óscar Lorenzo, as the club builds a squad with which it aims to return Xerez to Primera Federación.
