The blue-and-white side reported to Xavi Molist this Monday at Pedro S. Garrido to begin 2026/27 pre-season training, with ten new signings already part of the squad for a fresh push for promotion to Primera RFEF.
The 2026/2027 Xerez CD is now a reality. The Jerez side reported to Xavi Molist for the first time on the Pedro S. Garrido Stadium pitch this Monday to begin pre-season training, aiming to prepare for a new campaign in Segunda Federación in which the Xerecistas will once again chase promotion to Primera RFEF.
The day began with a talk from the Catalan coach, in which he laid out some of the concepts he wants to instil in the team and which he will keep developing over the coming weeks until the league gets under way, scheduled for 6 September. This was followed by the official presentation from the board, with words from president Juan Luis Gil and sporting director Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez, before the squad took to the pitch for the summer's first physical and ball-work sessions.
Ten signings for a renewed squad
The group that has started pre-season features 20 players from the first-team squad, including the ten new arrivals confirmed by the club for the new campaign: goalkeepers Carlos Pantoja and Manu Galán, defenders Fali, Víctor López and José David Salas, midfielders Jaime Fernández, Bittor Isuskiza and Raúl López, and forwards Óscar Lorenzo and Rubén Mesa.
They are joined by players staying on from last season, including Felipe Chacartegui, Josete, Moi Rodríguez, Guille Campos, Isma, Jaime López, Zelu, Zequi Díaz and Chuma, as well as goalkeeper Marcos Alconchel. Xavi Molist will also be able to call on several academy players this summer, among them Gabri Navarro, Manu Rosado, Miguel López, David de la Chica, Aarón Padilla, Óscar Ganfornina, Rober Sánchez, Ammar, Adri Valiente, Óscar Gallardo, Samu Rubiales and Dani Sánchez.
A week split between the Garrido and Costa Ballena
The squad will train again on Tuesday at Pedro S. Garrido before moving to Costa Ballena on Wednesday. Thursday will be a rest day, with work resuming on Friday, again at Costa Ballena, before closing out the week on Saturday at the Avenida Blas Infante ground.
The first pre-season friendly will come on 1 August against Jerez Industrial, opening a schedule that will also include matches against Chiclana CF, Racing Portuense, Real Betis C, Real Jaén, Juventud de Torremolinos, UD Roteña and Atlético Sanluqueño before the league opener in September.
