The coach finally resolves the negotiation process held with the club's board and becomes Xavi Molist's successor

Xerez CD will, in the coming hours, bring an end to the uncertainty surrounding its dugout over the past week. Abel Segovia will sign as the new first-team coach until the end of the current season, as has been confirmed, thus closing a negotiation process that had dragged on in recent days. The specific terms of the contract agreed between the two parties are not yet known.

An agreement that finally comes to fruition

The Jerez club and the coach have finally reached an understanding that will allow Segovia to take charge of the Xerez dressing room with the whole of the current season ahead of him, after several days of talks to finalise the terms of his arrival.

Xavi Molist's successor

The new coach thus replaces Xavi Molist, dismissed after the defeat suffered at the ground of Recreativo de Huelva, a result that left the Jerez side with just two points out of a possible twelve and in the relegation places after the first four matchdays of Group 4 of Segunda RFEF.

Imminent debut against Tenerife B

Abel Segovia will have very few days to prepare for his first match in charge of Xerez CD, which will come as soon as next Sunday with the visit of Tenerife B to Chapín. A debut with the added pressure of having to reverse, as soon as possible, a run of results that has set alarm bells ringing among the Xerez fans at the start of the league season.
