Xerez CD host Marbella FC on Sunday 25 October at 19:00 in what will be, according to the Marbella press, the first official meeting between the two clubs. The blue-and-whites did face the now-defunct Atlético Marbella three times at home in Segunda B, with two wins and a draw.
Matchday eight of Group IV of the Segunda RFEF brings together two teams level in the table at Chapín: Xerez are 13th and Marbella 14th, both on 6 points.
Marbella have already won in Jerez, but not against Xerez
The current Marbella club, then called UD Marbella, already knows what it is like to win in Jerez. It did so in the 2009/10 season, when it beat Jerez Industrial 1-2 in Group IV of the Segunda División B.
Three previous meetings with Atlético Marbella
Xerez's home record against the now-defunct Club Atlético Marbella favours the blue-and-whites. In the 1984/85 season, Xerez won 1-0 in Group II of Segunda B. In 1991/92 they repeated the 1-0, by then in Group IV, and in 1996/97 the two sides drew 0-0 in the same group. In its three visits, Atlético Marbella never won in Jerez.
