The Xerez CD centre-back, who played for Cádiz CF until 2025, faces his former club in the Copa del Rey this Wednesday. He says celebrating a goal would not be disrespectful to the Cádiz fans.

Xerez CD host Cádiz CF at Chapín this Wednesday at 21:00. For Fali Jiménez it will not be just another match. The defender spent several seasons at the Carranza club and still lives in Cádiz, where his children go to primary and secondary school.

"I haven't scored a goal in seven years"

Asked how he would celebrate a hypothetical goal against his former team, Fali played it down with a smile: "I haven't scored a goal in seven years. If I score, imagine... I don't even know what I might do, maybe I'll do a somersault and I don't even know how. Celebrating a goal wouldn't be disrespectful to the Cádiz fans, but they know me and they know how fond of them I am".
