The club is expected to be sanctioned as a repeat offender for objects thrown onto the pitch, following what happened in the Copa derby against Cádiz CF.
Xerez CD are expected to be sanctioned with the partial closure of their stadium and a 3,000-euro fine as repeat offenders for throwing objects.
The sanction follows the Copa del Rey first-round derby against Cádiz CF, played on Thursday at Chapín (1-3). In the 59th minute, after García Pascual made it 1-2, the referee stopped the match because objects were thrown from the Fondo Sur curve. Objects were also thrown after Cádiz's third goal, scored by Borja Vázquez in the 83rd minute, and the referee recorded it in the match report.
Repeat offence
It is not the first time this season. In the league match against Ciudad de Lucena, on 18 October at Chapín, the club had already received a warning of partial closure and a 600-euro fine, and against Cádiz the same thing happened again. Being a repeat offender is what makes the punishment harsher, going from a fine to the partial closure of the ground.
It remains to be seen which area of the stadium will be affected and in which match the sanction will be served. Xerez's next game at Chapín is against Antoniano on 15 November.
