Xerez fined 600 euros and warned of a partial closure of the Fondo Sur over incidents at Lucena's goal

The Competition Committee has fined Xerez CD 600 euros and issued a warning of a partial closure of the Fondo Sur over the incidents that followed Ciudad de Lucena's goal at Chapín last Sunday, 18 October.

The incidents took place in the 89th minute of the seventh-matchday fixture, when Sergio García scored the 0-1 that gave Ciudad de Lucena victory. According to the match report, bottles and lighters were thrown from the stands at that moment.

A warning ahead of the derby

The warning means that, if similar incidents happen again, the club could be punished with a partial closure of the Fondo Sur. The sanction comes a week before the Copa del Rey match against Cádiz CF, to be played on Wednesday 28 October at 21:00 at Chapín and which has been declared high risk by the relevant authorities.
