Xerez CD have won more times than they have lost against Cádiz CF. In the 36 matches the two sides have played in the top divisions, home and away, the blue-and-whites have 13 wins, 11 draws and 12 defeats. The two teams meet again this Wednesday, at 21:00, at Chapín, in the Copa del Rey.
The most frequent opponent from the province
No other club from the province has faced Cádiz as many times as Xerez. The Jerez side are 28th on the all-time list of opponents of the Carranza club, and the first from the province of Cádiz.
An almost even contest
The numbers paint a very even derby, but with a slight edge for Xerez. Xerez have taken all three points on 13 occasions, lost on 12 and on another 11 the match ended level.
Cádiz the favourites despite their year
But divisions exist for a reason, and Cádiz start as favourites in the tie. They do so despite a difficult 2026, in which they have won five matches and had five coaches.
Xerez, however, will have on their side a Chapín that is expected to be packed to the rafters and will carry the team on its shoulders, with the dream of getting through one more round, in which they could be drawn against a Champions League side.
A new chapter at Chapín
The derby now adds a new episode, this time in the Copa del Rey. Tomorrow, in front of their own fans, Xerez will look to extend that lead in the head-to-head record and reach the next round.
