Xerez CD have a new concern in the treatment room. Zelu has a muscle tear, as confirmed after undergoing medical tests, the injury that forced him off the pitch last Saturday at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol.

An injury that was plain to see

The player put his hand to the back of his left thigh and was unable to continue. Abel Segovia had to turn to his bench before the half-hour mark and brought on Isma Gutiérrez. Xerez, who had already gone ahead through Chuma’s free-kick, ended up drawing 1-1 against the leaders.

An important piece in the new Xerez

Zelu had started both matches under Segovia, against Tenerife B and Betis Deportivo, and was shaping up as one of the most prominent players on the left flank of the new team. His absence also comes at a bad time, with two consecutive matches at Chapín against Ciudad de Lucena and Marbella.
